About Ronnie Radler (B.S.T.T.M., MFHT)
Yoga - Thai Massage in Bath
I was originally born in Austria and spent my childhood in Vienna. In my early twenties I already
came in contact with yoga and meditation, partly out of curiosity (because in these times it was
still a very exotic and unknown area) but also out of the need to inspire my soul which i felt was
a very much neglected part of life in a rather materialistic orientated society in the 70s.
So for a few years I learned out of books ( I must have read through all the few books which were
available on yoga and meditation), tried different yoga poses and some very easy breathing exercises.
Even without deeper understanding it felt very good besides enjoying my growing body awareness.
It was not till 1989 when I met my first yoga teacher Cliff Barber, to learn about Ashtanga Yoga .
When I saw Cliff demonstrating an Ashtanga practise (which at that time I did not even know what it
was), I knew I had to learn this yoga style. The practice looked so powerful and genteel like an
endless flow and flying through the movements, almost done without any physical effort. Just
amazing.
So it happened that I spent some years with Cliff in a beautiful environment of southern Crete
inspired by his yogic lifestyle and daily practise to learn the first and second series
of Ashtanga yoga.
But then it was time to move on and one of my dreams (already for long time) was going to India, to
find out more about the roots of yoga and expierience what I call: the heart of spiritual life.
It was a fantastic and intense time travelling across India with so many different cultures and
religions, so much diversity and yet what seemed to me almost symbiotically connectet. Staying in
different temples and ashrams meeting amazing yogis and saddhus on their ways inspired me a lot
and brought me also deeper in my meditation practise.
Still doing my daily ashtanga practice attracted more and more people around me who all wanted to
learn the yoga sequence and that was the
time when I started teaching. I received very good feedback and my yoga classes were growing.
I enjoyed very much passing on my knowledge and meeting so many beautiful souls.
A short time later I met my wife Sally in India. 2001 our daughter Leilah was born in Bath - another
big change in my life.
I still continued my yoga training with Danny Paradise, Andrew Eppler, Ron Reid and Marla Meenakshi
Joy (Yoga Teachers)which are fully dedicated and inspiring yoga teachers.
My affectation for bodywork led me to an education in classic swedish massage (which I did in
Vienna) and gave me more understanding about the physiology of the human body. During two summers
in an Ashtanga yoga course near Malaga (Spain) I also started my first training in traditional Thai Yoga Massage, as it is a very profound
treatment and very similar to yoga with all the stretches and extensions and twists of the body.
I felt immadiatley familiar with the yoga pose like streches, and it helped me in my own yoga practice.
I continoued my Thai Yoga Massage training with an excellent teacher in Vienna
2009 I decided to live full-time in Bath and set up my yoga and massage enterprise and continued further training in
Thai Yoga Massage with the British School of Thai Yoga and Thai Massage in Dorset with Niclaire Skye.
I am very grateful to all my teachers for their inspiration and guidance on my path of life.
